Vivaldi Browser integrates email client with calendar

Already famous for its many customization options, the free Vivaldi web browser is enriched with a powerful messaging module accompanied by a calendar and an RSS feed reader. Good reasons to adopt it!

When we talk about a web browser, we often think of Chrome (Google), Edge (Microsoft), Firefox (Mozilla), or Safari (Apple). However, alongside – or rather in the shadows – of these popular programs that clearly dominate the market, there are countless less well-known but equally powerful, often more innovative applications. Especially Vivaldi.

Going forward, and continuing to stand out from the fierce competition, Vivaldi has just opened, after lengthy tests, new welcome functionality by integrating an email client – the equivalent of a true dedicated messaging client, such as Outlook or Thunderbird – in order to manage accounts and all messages associated with them. A powerful tool, which also comes with an agenda and RSS feed reader. It is enough to complete an already rich collection and make Vivaldi an “all-in-one” or almost Internet tool. Thus you can manage emails, appointments and follow the RSS feed from a single interface, without leaving the browser.

Vivaldi Mail: A powerful and complete email module

As the editor explains in detail in his blog, Vivaldi Mail has many great functions. Working with any email provider, it obviously supports traditional IMAP protocols – which store email messages and attachments on the provider’s servers by syncing them automatically – and POP3 – which transmits messages locally in the program – showing all email messages in one inbox , which avoids having to switch between different accounts when you have multiple addresses. Simply known as Vivaldi Mail, this messaging module detects chats and mailing lists by automatically categorizing messages into custom folders. It allows you of course to search for messages and select signatures, but also to customize shortcuts – to write new emails for example – from the keyboard or the quick command bar. And one can switch between a three-panel view, as in Gmail, or a horizontal split as in Thunderbird and older versions of Microsoft Outlook. In short, like a real database, Vivaldi Mail offers everything you would expect from a modern email client.

Vivaldi Calendar and Vivaldi Feed Reader: Practical Functions

Not only does the new version of Vivaldi integrate this powerful messaging module, it also includes a powerful agenda calendar module (Vivaldi Calendar) to manage meetings, appointments and other events, locally or online. You can use several views that provide different levels of detail or even display the events recorded there by day, week, month, and year. And even quickly create an event while browsing, by selecting a date and then choosing the appropriate option from the right-click context menu. Well seen ! Finally, Vivaldi also includes an RSS feed reader (Vivaldi Feed Reader), compatible with many RSS formats as well as the ATOM standard, and can be accessed individually from the browser icons sidebar.
