The Nothing (1) phone is not expected to be announced before July 12, but it seems that the smartphone does not want to wait and really wants to come out of hiding to reveal itself to the whole world. We were already able to observe its design for the first time and learn more with a behind-the-scenes video of the brand, and since then the device has been put up for auction (only the first 100 models).

However, the smartphone has now been revealed in the first video of the full handling.

Small tour of the owner

It was YouTubeur MKBHD who had the privilege of this first test of the popular transparent smartphone. So the company continues to use excitement as a weapon of choice in its strategy by allowing information filtering with small touches until the event.

This video lets us take a better look at the entire front and back design of the smartphone. Here we can see that the Nothing (1) phone will have a screen with borders of all equal parts and a punch for the front camera which will be located in the upper left corner of the screen. Screen whose exact dimensions are not yet known.

Bright back well to use

As for the pattern on the back made up of LEDs, nothing gives it a nice little name: “Glyph”. These LEDs appear to be designed in such a way that they offer very specific uses and can be controlled via a dedicated interface. This page, called “Glyph Interface”, offers a lot of customization regarding the pattern on its back.

We would have, for example, light patterns that react differently to 10 types of ringtones. Thus each graph can be associated with a particular contact. But also indicators related to phone notifications, Google Assistant usage, animations according to the user’s bedtime schedule, etc. The videographer specifies that at launch, we are entitled to different types of lighting patterns for certain apps’ notifications.

The style can also interact with more specific uses. The center part lights up when wireless charging, reverse or not, is in progress. The small exclamation mark at the bottom is used to indicate the real-time charging rate of the smartphone. All you have to do is shake the phone to consult with him.

The smartphone’s LED lights can also illuminate in unison to act as an extra light for the camera, bypassing the power of a regular flash. There is also a red LED on the back of the smartphone to indicate that recording is in progress.

A feature called “Flip to Glyph” allows you to position the smartphone so you can use it in a less distracting way by receiving notifications and calls without the lights on.

When you see all the uses considered here, it is clear that this pattern is in no way due to chance and that every detail can have an interest in use. It remains to be seen when and at what price it will be introduced.
